- A numbers matching, highly original example with fantastic patina throughout
- Currently in running condition
BMW and Germany were in ruins following the Potsdam Agreement and the end of WWII in the European theatre. With their hands tied, they were very limited on what they could design and build so they were largely relegated to pre-war designs for the postwar motorcycles. When the agreement was lifted in 1948, BMW’s first postwar motorcycle to be sold to the public was the R24 250cc single cylinder, which was essentially a pre-war R23. It was not until 1956 that BMW would introduce their largely redesigned R26 model. Fitted with a 250cc single-cylinder engine, producing 15 hp, bolted directly to the frame, the R26 also came with an enclosed drive shaft, rear swingarm and Earles type front forks. The little single cylinder bikes sold well, especially in Europe, where economic and reliable daily transport was much more important than here in America. The R26 would be replaced by slightly upgraded R27 in 1960. Over its 5-year production run, just over 30,000 R26 motorcycles were built, with most of them finding homes throughout Europe.
This particular 1959 BMW R26, chassis number 362283 and engine number 362283, is a numbers matching example with excellent originality and patina throughout. It is believed to be original paint and judging by the patina and character present on the bike, it is hard to argue otherwise. Not much is known on the early history of the motorcycle but for past approximately 2 decades it has resided in collections and has been well cared for and maintained in a running “project” type condition. According to the registration sticker, still affixed to the rear fender it was last registered in Pennsylvania in 1985. The bike currently runs and has a fresh battery installed although we were only able to get the bike running by bump starting it. The odometer currently states the mileage as 4297 but the accuracy of this cannot be confirmed. With a bit of additional service, this R26 could easily be made roadworthy and would be the highlight of any motorcycle gathering or an excellent conversation piece in any collection. Included with the sale of this motorcycle is the original owners manual.

1967 Ferrari 330 GTC
- For Sale
- 0 miles
- Manual
This 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC is one of approximately 600 examples built during a three-year production run, and was delivered new to dealer Romeo Pedini of Perugia, Italy in November 1967. The car was imported to the US in 1972, where it remained with a single owner in Massachusetts from 1974 until being acquired by its current owner in 2018. The body is finished in gold over beige leather, and power is from a numbers-matching 4.0-liter Colombo V12 with triple Weber carburetors. Additional equipment includes a rear-mounted five-speed manual transaxle, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, 14” alloy knock-off wheels, power windows, and an eight-track stereo. This 330 GTC is offered on consignment by a Connecticut dealer who is being represented by the seller, and comes with a Marcel Massini report, recent service records, and a clean California title.
The 330 GTC was unveiled at the 1966 Geneva International Motor Show featuring Pininfarina-designed bodywork over a chassis shared with the contemporary 275 GTB. Front-end styling was similar to that of the 500 Superfast and included louvered fender vents, split bumpers, and recessed headlights, while the rear end shared the rounded profile of the 275 GTS.According to the Massini report, this example was originally finished in Grigio Fumo but was repainted in its current gold after importation to the US in the early 1970s. The seller notes evidence of additional body and paintwork on various panels, and close-up photos of the finish are provided in the gallery below.
Campagnolo magnesium alloy wheels are secured by three-eared chrome knock-offs, and were refurbished in January 2021 before being mounted with 205VR14 Michelin XWX tires. A matching spare with older Firestone rubber is housed in the trunk. Power-assisted disc brakes feature four-piston calipers all around. A brake fluid flush was performed in late 2020, while the handbrake received new pads and adjustment in April 2021.
Beige Connolly leather on the seats and side panels was re-dyed in February 2021, while blue carpeting covers the floors and rear parcel shelf. Additional interior details include wood dash trim, a fluted headliner, a gated shifter, blue three-point seatbelts, and leather luggage straps. The window and windshield wiper motors were rebuilt in 2021, at which time the heater valve and controls were also repaired and the fuel door cable replaced.
A wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 300-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, and gauges monitoring oil temperature, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 52k kilometers (~32k miles), with total mileage unknown. The center dash houses a fuel gauge, clock, and ammeter above an AM/FM/eight-track stereo.
The Numbers-Matching 4.0-liter Tipo 209 V12 incorporates single overhead camshafts, triple twin-choke Weber carburetors, twin Marrelli distributors, and dual oil coolers. Output was factory rated at 300 horsepower at 7,000 rpm. Service in November 2020 included fluid changes, carburetor adjustments, replacement of the spark plugs, and an electric fuel pump repair. The negative battery cable, right valve cover gasket, and front cover seal were changed in March 2021, aPower is sent to the rear wheels via a torque tube and a rear-mounted five-speed manual transaxle. A new steering center link and tie rod ends were installed in 2020, after which an alignment was performed. Four-wheel independent suspension comprises double wishbones, coil springs, and rebuilt Koni shock absorbers fitted in 2021. A summary of service carried out in preparation for the sale is included in the gallery below, as are invoices for the work. A film showcasing footage of the car can be viewed in the video gallery below, as can a video discussing the car’s history and features with a ride along and additional work in 2021 including flushing, repairing, and pressure-testing the radiator.
